Obesity and cardiovascular disease in pets.

(This is part 3 of an 8-part series on overweight pets from the desk of the Dynavyte Vet.)

A key ingredient in Dynavyte Pets may have the answer for overweight pets ...

Obesity causes inflammation throughout the body and loss of gut barrier integrity.

There are strong links between the degree and duration of obesity and cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease is a collective term for diseases of the heart and blood vessels of which many are life threatening.

Bacillus subtilis (Natto) is the active ingredient in Dynavyte Pets. It is an efficient and effective probiotic "spore", which means it survives your pet's stomach acid to reach the gut where it is needed.

Bacillus subtilis (Natto) or B. natto produces an enzyme called nattokinase (NK) that can break down blood clots through several mechanisms. NK has been shown to have little or no side effects, is safe and non-toxic. Nattokinase is absorbed readily through the intestinal wall.

Studies have shown similar blood thinning results between NK and aspirin without the side effects of bleeding or stomach ulcers that occur with aspirin. Animal and human research has shown NK to improve blood circulation and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Studies have shown NK can reduce high blood pressure, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease and the build-up of plaque on blood vessel walls (atherosclerosis).

B. natto also produces vitamin K2 that has been shown to regulate osteoporosis, atherosclerosis, cancer and inflammatory diseases without the risk of negative side effects or overdosing.

The traditional food Natto has been reported to explain the long-life expectancy in Japanese people.

Importantly, a study in 2019 found a measurable benefit from pet ownership on cardiovascular disease. Link: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6499429/
