Pet obesity can lead to diabetes.

The levels of free fatty acids in the blood and increased blood vessel inflammation throughout the body caused by obesity results in insulin resistance.

This resistance may lead to type 2 diabetes where there is increased and excessive blood sugar. The increased blood sugar damages nerves, blood vessels and body organs.

Where does Dynavyte Pets MBS come in? The active ingredient in Dynavyte Pets is Bacillus subtilis (Natto).

Bacillus subtilis (Natto) has been found to decrease blood levels of fatty acids and markers of inflammation (these chemicals indicate inflammation when found in the blood).

Part 2 in this series described the effects that B. natto had on obese mice from scientific research to be published in May 2020. This same study highlighted that: B. natto potentially serves as a probiotic to prevent obesity and metabolic disorders.


The enzymes in B. natto increase the levels of beneficial short chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and are different to the free fatty acids involved in diabetes.

SCFAs provide nutrients to the cells lining the colon and are absorbed into the circulation and utilised as useful chemicals and signal molecules.

SCFAs have local gut hormone effects and both abdominal and peripheral tissue effects. The same review from 2018 also found metabolic status and cardiovascular markers improved with SCFAs.
